Scalable ESG reporting in property management
M&P is shifting its focus – from the question of tools to data-driven value creation.

Companies operating internationally rely on M&P’s expertise for projects spanning multiple locations.
Our expertise is in demand worldwide. Working beyond national borders opens up valuable perspectives for our consultants, enabling them to effectively drive forward global climate targets both at home and abroad.

What was once a rarity in M&P’s early years has now become the norm – particularly in energy consultancy: our experts support German clients abroad or, in some cases, foreign clients in even the most remote corners of the world.
From special projects such as site supervision, commissioning support and maintenance assistance at the Indian Bharati Polar Station in Antarctica, through to air quality control measures for Siemens AG’s office sites in China, right up to identifying energy-saving potential and drawing up transformation strategies for ZF Friedrichshafen AG across Europe, Brazil and the USA – this is just a selection of the ‘remote projects’ for which M&P experts’ energy expertise is in demand. And this demand is growing.
The reason for this lies in the global sustainability goals of companies operating worldwide. Pilot projects are often carried out in Germany first to test the methodology. This approach is then rolled out across the entire organisation. Drawing on its extensive project experience, M&P has now developed a standardised project process to support individual properties from the conceptualisation stage right through to the implementation of measures, and to optimise entire corporate portfolios in a targeted manner. Priority is often given to sites with high energy consumption and high specific energy costs. However, the selection is not based solely on this. Rather, criteria such as individual production processes, plant reorganisation, regulatory requirements or infrastructure refurbishments required at short notice also play a role in sensibly combining strategically necessary steps with energy efficiency and decarbonisation.

A standardised approach across multiple sites creates transparency and, first and foremost, enables comparability – that is, the ability to evaluate investments company-wide and make them where they deliver the greatest added value for the organisation as a whole.
Insert: M&P employs staff from 36 nations. We were able to provide support through native speakers for seven ZF production sites in Brazil, as well as the preliminary planning of a new Audi production site in China.

Working in teams of usually two staff members, we visit the sites with operators and production managers following a preliminary data analysis. Time and again, it becomes clear that only a complementary assessment of the circumstances and on-site dialogue can lead to a coherent overall picture and concrete improvement measures.
Our team combines expertise in building services engineering and the supply of production facilities. As these areas usually remain separate within our clients’ organisational structures, we frequently identify previously unrecognised opportunities for optimisation precisely at this interface.
We identify holistic potential for improvement and evaluate it across systems, taking interactions into account. At the same time, we provide cross-company and cross-site training as well as the transfer of best practices.
Numerous projects have shown that the potential for energy savings is greater internationally than in Germany. At the same time, the absolute cost savings are not necessarily higher due to lower energy prices.
Nevertheless, the opportunities for knowledge transfer, the support for company-wide strategic investment decisions, and the identification and implementation of numerous significant energy efficiency and decarbonisation measures consistently justify a standardised and global approach across our clients’ entire organisations.
In this way, every trip becomes not just an on-site project – but a further wealth of solutions and experiences from which our clients and the climate alike benefit.
