M&P is shifting its focus – from the question of tools to data-driven value creation.

How M&P, as a technological trailblazer, is setting the standards in digital construction with its own tools and add-ons.
Networked systems and practical digital tools are fundamentally transforming day-to-day life on the construction site. M&P not only utilises these technologies but also continues to develop them step by step, tool by tool.
In the past, plans were distributed on paper; today, data flows in real time. The digital transformation is fundamentally changing the day-to-day work of contractors, architects, planners and construction firms on site: Processes are becoming more transparent, decisions faster and work safer. Through the implementation, application and further development of digital tools, M&P is setting new standards in modern construction planning and execution.
An important source of information on the digital construction site is the IFC model. It maps all architectural and building services components and is supplemented by 360-degree images from OpenSpace.
Further data, such as that from access control, is processed within the systems developed by M&P: it is incorporated into the schedule and documented in the construction log alongside additional weather data. Our experts consolidate all functions and tools in a central dashboard.
Even during the structural works phase, our experts regularly scan the growing building and synchronise construction progress in real time with a BIM model. This enables deviations and clashes to be identified at an early stage and handover processes to be improved. A huge advantage in terms of quality! Any defects identified can be marked in a PDF or BIM collaboration format and forwarded to the relevant contractors – with transparent traceability via the dashboard.

The construction site is regularly inspected using a helmet-mounted camera. The data is analysed and linked via OpenSpace to the IFC model and the defects management tool. New tasks and to-dos are thereby created directly at the correct location. This ensures an up-to-date and transparent overview of the project’s progress at all times.
By reconciling access data (essentry data) with the schedule and a daily report on the actual and target statuses, it becomes immediately apparent which contractors are on site as planned – and which are not. Deviations can be identified straight away, allowing the site manager and other parties involved in the construction to react proactively.
“This is particularly important in emergency situations. In the event of a fire, for example, the site manager can immediately check how many people are still on site,” explains M&P expert Martin.
The digital construction log consolidates data from access control, sensors, weather information and photographic documentation. For each date, the relevant information is automatically collated and stored as an entry. “Has a company failed to complete a task on time because it was allegedly raining? A quick glance at the digital construction log is all it takes – with a high level of documentation reliability, you have a clear overview of all activities on the construction site on a specific day,” says Martin, summarising the benefits of the application.
Each contractor can add warning symbols to a site plan of the construction project. Are heavy components being hoisted in a particular area? Is there a section of flooring missing on the first floor? A quick glance at the OHS-Board allows construction staff on site to see where they currently need to take precautions. This significantly improves safety on construction sites.
“In future, we plan to install screens at the entrances to construction sites. As soon as people enter – rather than only upon reaching the usual barriers – it will be clear: it could be dangerous here today. To achieve this, we want to use simple pictograms that everyone can understand – regardless of language.”

It will be interesting to see what comes next. Our experts are never short of ideas: with a constant stream of new tools and bespoke add-ons, M&P is consistently shaping the future of the digital construction site – as a pioneer that not only supports the digitalisation of key processes but also plays a decisive role in shaping them.
